For a special 2019 exhibition connected to the annual conference, we are pursuing this question with a simple prompt.<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 29px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"color: black;\"><strong>What is the location of your experimental engagement? \u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please respond with the following:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><strong>One <u>square<\/u> JPEG image<\/strong>, at least 3000 pixels tall and wide. Consider that a location\u2014a &#8220;particular place or position&#8221;\u2014might be physical, virtual, or\u00a0metaphorical. Your image might be an overview or a detail. It might be a photograph, a visualization, a diagram, or a drawing. Make a selection that balances representation with provocation.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>A caption<\/strong> for your image. Tell us what we&#8217;re looking at, in as few words as possible.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>One quotation<\/strong> of no more than 100 words from a source that inspires or otherwise informs your experimental engagement.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>A citation<\/strong> for your quotation. Please use Chicago footnote style.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submissions are encouraged from persons and collectives primarily engaged in art-making and, equally, other forms of scholarly work. This prompt is applicable to all of SLSA&#8217;s various contingents, and we hope to receive responses from and, ultimately, be able to visually present a representative cross-section of SLSA member creative activity.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This call is itself an experimental engagement, and we anticipate\u2014and will appreciate\u2014unexpected results. Final exhibition parameters will evolve in the face of the work we receive.
