The Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts condemns the executive order issued by President Donald J. Trump on January 27, 2017, that bans entry into the US of people from seven countries. Colleagues and students contributing to the interdisciplinary and international study of science, literature, media, and the arts realize that the success of our colleagues and students depends on fundamental freedoms, including the free movement of peoples. The President and Executive Committee direct concerned individuals to the statement issued by the American Historical Association.
