The English Department at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a one-year term beginning August 2025. Applications are now being accepted and will be reviewed immediately.
Job Overview
The English department at the University of Cincinnati (UC) is pleased to announce a search for a 2025-2026 Postdoctoral Fellow in Literary and Cultural Studies. Scholars who have received their Ph.D. after June 2021 in English or contiguous Humanities fields are invited to apply for a postdoctoral fellowship. The purpose of this Fellowship is to provide emergent scholars with time to further their work in a nurturing program, while buttressing departmental research and teaching needs. We are open to candidates in any area of English, but we are particularly interested in scholars who are experts in one of the following areas: gender and/ or sexuality, postcolonial or world literature, American literature of any period, or ecocriticism and literature. We will ask that the Fellow teach a 1/1 or 1/2 class load, depending on interest or departmental need.
This is a one-year appointment with an annual salary of $55,000 with full health benefits. The Fellow will also be provided with an office in the department and is expected to spend the academic year (August-May) in residence at UC.
