Dear Colleagues,
 
We write to invite you to save the date for The Examined Life: Writing
and the Art of Medicine, a conference on writing and medicine,
scheduled
for April 24 and 25, 2007 at the University of Iowa Carver College of
Medicine in Iowa City, IA.

Conference goals: fostering collaboration and discussion on the role
of
creative writing in medical education and writing throughout a
lifelong
career as a physician; sharing initiatives to demonstrate the role of
creative writing in patient care; and offering skill-building sessions
on writing, editing and publishing creative work.
 
The site includes a call for presentations:

Presentation proposals are due Friday, January 19, 2007.
 
The site will be updated with keynote speakers and special guests
shortly. In the meantime, please save the date, and please share the
