I just did it now. The only problem I had was with the telephone
numbers--the boxes will only accept a limited number of characters
(not enough for a full number with country and area codes) and won't
accept hyphens at all. When I just put in numbers, though, it
worked, and I got a message that I will get an e-mail acknowledgment
tomorrow (we'll see). As for the fees (which can't be done online
anyway), I'll send a message to the organizers noting the problems
people have been having accessing the website (it's been off and on
in my experience), and ask for an extension on the early deadline.

Dear Antje (and all),

The URL for SLS Paris printed in the recent Decodings was wrong. Here is
the
correct one for the general page in English (although the initial
part--up
and including SLS--would get you the French page):

http://www.univ-paris8.fr/colloques/SLS/english/index.php3?id_rubrique=35

Registration is at
http://www.univ-paris8.fr/colloques/SLS/english/registration.php3?id_article=40

I just registered and received confirmation. Hope it works for you.
best,
Carol

Hello everyone.

Myself and the members of the panel I put together were also unable to
access the SLS-Paris website last week. Glad to see that the web site is
now
back up and running, and I have just been able to complete the online
registration form there. I hadn't realized that there would be no online
payment option, and so I'll be doing a transfer via the bank today.

Cheers,
- -=Trace

Dear Carol,

I just tried registering again, using the links you list, however, the
form still doesn't accept my e-mail address. (I contacted the organizers

last week concerning the problems, but havn't received a response yet.)

Best,

Isabel

I see there are a number of people who have expressed concern about
registering for Paris but weren't direct recipients of Yves' message,
so I'm forwarding it to the list; if anyone's gotten it more than
once, my apologies, but I think a little redundancy is in order....

SLS PARIS
2004 EARLY REGISTRATION : EXTENDED DEADLINE.

You may have noticed that the conference website was out of action at
the end of last week. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

The site is now up and running again and we have decided to extend the
early registration deadline by one week to May 3rd. Please ensure that
your payment is also under way by then, even if it will obviously
arrive later.

Some of you have told us that their bank required more information
than is given on the website. We shall be adding the requested
information within a day or two, as soon as we receive it.

A provisional conference program will be online within a week. Please
check it and let us know if you have any questions regarding the panel
to which you have been ascribed.

We shall also be posting a list of participants on the site. Could you
please check that the information concerning you is correct and send
us any corrections or modifications you might want. This information
will feature in the book of abstracts, so it is important to avoid
mistakes.

You also have until May 17th to revise your abstract before it goes
into the book. Could those of you who sent extended or indeed very
brief abstracts please have a look at what you submitted. We shall not
be able to publish abstracts in excess of about 200 words. Nor can we
ourselves edit your abstract.

We look forward to welcoming you to the conference in June.

Yves Abrioux
